Head of Industrialisation [F/H]

Job Description 👨‍💻
The Head of Industrialisation oversees the industrialisation, methods, and test/production equipment development teams. He/She leads the activities of these departments across all customer and internal development projects. This role defines and deploys the company’s transversal industrial strategy while bringing expertise in manufacturing, industrialisation, procurement, methods, and production topics.

Managerial
📌Hiring and onboarding: Supervise the recruitment and integration of new team members, including cultural onboarding into Exotrail.
📌Performance and career development: Define roles and responsibilities, set SMART goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide regular feedback. Design personalized development plans focusing on leadership skills and career growth within Exotrail.
📌Compensation and benefits: Manage salary components, bonuses, and employee reward programs. Oversee employee benefits schemes.
📌Team management: Foster motivation and employee satisfaction through a positive, collaborative work environment. Address interpersonal conflicts and enforce adherence to Exotrail's values and behavioral standards, applying sanctions if necessary.
📌Process and Tools Implementation
- Lead the structuring and deployment of industrialisation, methods, production tools (ERP, MES), and testing equipment development, both within the team and across departments.
- Define and oversee team training on internal tools and methods, ensuring proper adoption and use.
- Ensure consistency and performance of the tools used within the industrial development framework.
📌Resource Management, Project Coordination and Oversight
- Oversee the activities of methods, industrialisation, and test/production equipment development across customer and internal projects, ensuring quality, cost, deadlines, and risk control.
- Plan and adjust team capacity and skills based on project needs, in collaboration with Production, Product, Technical, and Customer Project Managers.
- Ensure optimal workload distribution and escalate resource conflicts to the COO and Project Director.
- Participate in defining project CAPEX and OPEX and ensure proper execution within scope.
📌Technical Oversight and Industrial Compliance
- Provide technical supervision for the industrialisation of new products, equipment, and packaging from design to production.
- Offer expertise during product design phases and validate industrial decisions (supplier choice, documentation, feasibility).
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of industrial performance indicators (failure rates, root causes, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and adherence to legal, regulatory, and quality standards.
📌Continuous Improvement and Industrial Optimisation
- Structure and drive continuous improvement initiatives across products, processes, and tools.
- Identify issues, lead or contribute to corrective actions, and implement cost-effective technical improvements both internally and at departmental interfaces (Production, Engineering).
- Encourage innovation in processes (automation, ergonomics, lean manufacturing) to enhance working conditions, performance, and competitiveness.
- Standardise methods and promote best practices across the team.
The Head of Industrialisation has a high degree of autonomy in managing their scope. They are empowered to make necessary decisions aligned with company rules and performance targets. Responsible for budget adherence, schedules, and project execution, they are expected to report transparently to management on activities, results, and variances, while ensuring alignment with company policies.
Required Qualifications
Engineering degree (Master’s level or equivalent) in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, automation, or a related field.
Required Skills
📌Technical:
- Industrialisation and production methods: Strong knowledge of design-to-manufacturing processes (fabrication, assembly, automation, etc.)
- ERP / MES systems: Solid experience in implementing production management tools
- Industrial project management: Capable of leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects with cost, time, and quality control
- Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement: Skilled in optimisation tools (5S, Kaizen, FMEA, Six Sigma)
- Technical documentation: Ability to read and validate industrial documentation (drawings, BoMs, specifications)
- Industrial performance analysis: Proficiency in defining and tracking KPIs (failure rates, OEE, cost analysis)
- Regulatory compliance and quality: Knowledge of applicable standards (ISO, safety, environmental, etc.)
