Apprentice Operation Interfaces Development
Job Description 👨💻
Exotrail is expanding its spacedrop™ service around Earth in LEO to GEO. To achieve it, our team develops the Satellite Control Center software used for operating our satellites. In order to improve the SCC software usage and the readability of satellites in-orbit data, new additional user interfaces would be developed for printing data, showing the current status of operations and interact with the system.
As a Software Engineer Apprentice, your mission will be to define and implement interfaces for the Exotrail Ground Segment based on our current SCC architecture. You will use Grafana for visualization interfaces & Angular and NestJS for user interfaces. Those interfaces will be used routinely by satellite operators and will be designed using their feedback.
During the apprenticeship, you will be under the supervision of an Exotrail operations software Engineer, and you will be in close contact with the satellite engineering teams. You will work on several tasks including:
📌 Discover and understand the job of satellite operations engineers.
📌 Define a design of the SCC interfaces.
📌Incorporate feedback from operators.
📌 Development of interfaces.
📌 Cross-validation with other existing Software engineers and operators.
You will be joining a dynamic and motivated team based in the city centre of Toulouse. We accord great importance to freedom, autonomy, and responsibility. You will benefit from the support of all the team in spacecraft engineering.
Preferred Experience 💁♀️
Exotrail is looking for a young engineer with a solid background in frontend software development, especially with modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, Vue). A proactive attitude and a high degree of autonomy are also expected. Knowledge or previous experience with the following are appreciated:

You like working in a changing and challenging environment. You enjoy working in a team, bringing in new ideas and debating with your colleagues to move the project forward. You are an action-oriented person, and you want to bring agility to space and develop new services based on high-level technologies.
