Embedded Software & Test Intern offer
Exotrail develops in-orbit servicing vehicles, SpaceVan, for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and
Geostationary Orbit (GEO) missions.
The Avionics team is responsible for developing the onboard software running on the flight computers (Hardware in the Loop) and ensuring its reliability and robustness. Testing is performed on hardware benches reproducing the satellite on the ground.
As part of Software Verification & Validation, it is often necessary to simulate the behavior of external equipment and client payloads.
To support this activity, Exotrail is looking for an Embedded Software / Computer Science
Intern to join our Avionics team for a 6-month internship, starting January–March 2026 at our Toulouse offices.
What you’ll do
- Develop Python applications on Linux to simulate hardware components and client payloads
- Develop and use communication interfaces (UART, CAN, RS-485, …)
- Build and run automated tests with hardware simulators and benches in the loop
- Contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement
What we’re looking for
We are looking for a Master’s / Bac+4 or Bac+5 student in embedded systems or computer science, with strong interest in:
- C and Python development
- Linux/FreeRTOS environments
- Git and version control
- Embedded communication protocols
- Testing methodologies & troubleshooting
